Love at the Japanese Gardens
Since moving to Toowoomba, Australia, I have found that there are some beautiful hidden gems in the area. One of which is the Japanese Gardens. This little oasis offers a gorgeous backdrop for photo sessions. Especially this past weekend's session with Belinda and Trent.
Sunday was their 6th anniversary and they celebrated this occasion with a couple's photography session. Like most married couples, we forget to take the time to celebrate as a couple because your life changes so much especially when you have children. You would never have guessed that they had been married for 6 years because they were just like a newlywed couple. You can tell how deeply they were in love by the way they just looked at each other. I was so honored that they allowed me to be their photographer.
The Japanese Gardens offered a variety of backdrops for this session with bridges, footpaths, and lake. The time of day we chose was the golden hour before sunset where we had the best light and the evening glow before the sun fell. It is the winter-time here in Australia, but the weather is very mild. Warm during the day and in the sun, chilly in the evening and at night.
I LOVED Belinda's choice of outfits for this session. For the first half, a light blue dress with blue heels that gave everything that pop of color, especially with the red of the bridge. For the second half, she did a more casual fall/winter look with jeans, boots, and vest which went very well with the season and again with a little of color to give her images that pop of color against the backdrop.
The other thing that I loved was Trent's tattoo on his finger. I love tattoos because they have symbolic meaning to them. And this was no exception. Men often find it hard to wear their wedding bands due to their work. Trent had a "B" tattooed to his wedding finger. Very sweet tribute to the love of his life.
This couple was amazing and very easy to work with. I was so blessed to have met and worked with them. I wish them many more happy and long years of marriage!
Just a few from this session.
