Baby M-Newborn Session

“Babies are bits of star-dust blown from the hand of God. Lucky is the woman who knows the pangs of birth for she has held a star.”

– Larry Barretto

My first newborn session! Oh goodness was I nervous. Luckily it was with a friend's brand new little girl and it helped with my nerves. But still! Baby M was only a few days old and she was wide awake! You see all these perfect baby photographs with sleeping babies and it would seem like the session was easy....NOPE not with this girl! This session was a real learning experience and it helped me to be able to think on toes when things don't go as I had thought they would.

Baby M is this wonderful couple's second child. Their older daughter is equally as cute and loves her baby sister so very much.

The couple wanted natural, rustic, and simple style. So we went with light browns, light pinks, and whites. I love the simple style. It does distract from the subject matter.

As I stated before, Baby M was wide eyed, awake, and very squirmy. She also wanted to be next to Mama the entire time. So we improvised and many of the images that we got were more lifestyle photography then traditional newborn photography. I personally love the lifestyle photography because it captures motherhood and the patience and tenderness it take for a mother to sooth her baby. And only a mother can do that for her child. It's that special bond they share.

Overall I was very pleased with how this session turned out and the images that were produced.
